Description

The role is responsible for understanding clinical requirements in an operational healthcare setting and translating those requirements into functional specifications. This includes leveraging capabilities of a clinical information system to re-engineer clinical workflow and drive clinical transformation within an EMR project. The role will be responsible as an application specialist for a functional subset of the Cerner clinical system at the Hospital and provide application support; liase with software vendor to resolve system issues and recommend enhancements. The role requires extensive consultation with clinicians and other key stakeholders to identify analyze and document the business requirements to configure and test the clinical system to meet the needs of the Hospital. Formal tertiary qualifications in a clinical discipline or health information management. Project management, IT or equivalent qualifications is desirable Skills/ Competencies: 1. Proven business analyst skills and experience within the context of clinical information systems or other information management initiatives 2. Demonstrated negotiation and influencing skills in managing groups to be able to create consensus and gain agreement to proposals in the face of opposition when managing clinical information systems project deliverables 3. Demonstrated knowledge of the Cerner Millinnium solutions e.g SurgiNet, FirstNet, Powerchart, PowerOrders, Scheduling, Enterprise Registration Management
